Paul (Media Tutor):
Gil Scott-Heron – Bicentennial Blues (Tom Smith’s Cosmic edit)
Sylvester – Over and Over

Georgie (Volunteer):
Tupac – Changes
Neil Young – Southern Man

Changes on New Years was an emotional moment.Southern Man was a surprising choice which just shows that you never know what to expect at Slop and it made me revisit and appreciate the song differently after.

Aaron (Endless Studio):
Lonnie Liston Smith – Speak About It

Jamie (Endless Studio):
Changes – Tupac

Special mention to Fleetwood Mac The Chain into extended version and Could You Be Loved after the countdown on New Years.

Lawrie (Volunteer, LPF):
Sister Sledge – Thinking of You
Freddie Hubbard – Red Clay

After a good bit of thinking, it’s whittled down to them as my 2 favourite Slop finishers.. Both heavy groovers that only sound quite so special when played through slops system at that hour in the night when the lights come on and everybody’s dancing as if they are still off, the rooms energy is still bootin’, it’s amazing!

Laura Edmeade:
Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes – Don’t leave me this way
Dj Mujava – Township Funk

Mafalda:
Nina Simone – My Sweet Lord/Today is a Killer
Freddie Hubbard – Red Clay

Repeating Lawrie here with my Red Clay choice, but the last time I saw Tom play this at the party it was such an incredible moment. And I absolutely love the energy whenever Hip Hop is played in the sound system.

Charlie Stobbart:
Gil Scott-Heron – Angel Dust
Roy Davis – Gabriel
Crosby, Stills and Nash – Wooden Ships
Labi Siffre – I Got The…

And there ought to be a Bob and the Wailers in there too but it’s too difficult to choose!
